About our radio show:\u00a0 <\/strong>The East County Magazine Show\u00a0 airs in prime-time on Mondays and Fridays at 5 p.m. It reruns Tuesdays at 8 a.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m. on KNSJ 89.1 FM, a public educational station broadcasting from Descanso, heard from the mountains to the sea in the San Diego region.<\/p>

\u00a0You can also stream our show online with the free Tune-In Radio app to listen live anywhere, even if you\u2019re in an area of poor reception or if the station\u2019s antennae atop Mt. Laguna is offline due to winter weather.<\/p>

\u00a0Our independent radio began airing on July 4, 2013. Our show, like our online magazine, has a mission to reflect all voices in our region, particularly those under-represented in other media.\u00a0<\/p>

Our radio show has won awards from Society of Professional Journalists and San Diego Press Club. Our award-winning coverage included important topics such as human trafficking in our region, efforts by local Iraqis to help refugees fleeing genocide, water and environmental issues in East County, and \u201cOut of the Ashes,\u201d our special report on the 10-year anniversary of the Cedar Fire.<\/p>

About our host<\/strong>:\u00a0 Miriam Raftery, producer and host of the East County Magazine radio show, is also the editor and founder of East County Magazine<\/em>. She is a national award-winning journalist with over three decades of experience.<\/p>
